James Pursey - Board Chair

James is a 51 years old marketing and management expert with an MSc in Mass Communication. He worked initially in UK television, and for the last 15 years in the humanitarian sector across Africa. James brings a pragmatic, straightforward, and organised approach to the table, as well as extensive advertising skills. James is the father of Elena at Year 3 and Marco at Year 6 and they love the MBIS family.

Hadia Hesham - Board Vice Chair          

Hadia holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the American University in Cairo. Her work experience for over 10 years has been in the areas of Marketing, Project and Event Management as well as Business Development in the FMCG, Real Estate and Telecom sector. Some of her recent work included planning and executing an exhibition for the top African product designers as part of Africa Forum in collaboration with COMESA and Ministry of Investment. Her son Youssef is in year 4 and are happy to call MBIS their extended family.

Douglas Tsetsetse - Board Treasurer

Douglas is a Certified Treasurer, qualified Economist and an experienced banker. Currently he holds a position of Senior Manager at African Export- Import Bank(Afreximbank) in the Treasury and Markets department, responsible for International Resource Mobilisation and Credit Rating. Douglas joined Afreximbank in February 2015 and is based at the Bank’s headquarters in Cairo. He holds an MBA and a Bachelor of Science Honors Degree in Economics, both from the University of Zimbabwe, Diploma in Banking from Institute of Bankers of Zimbabwe and is a Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), a certification awarded by the Association for Financial Professionals, USA. Before joining Afreximbank, Douglas had a very successful career in Zimbabwe where he worked for banks, an insurance company, and an asset management company. He served these companies in different capacities that include Graduate Management Trainee, Treasury Dealer, Chief Dealer, Treasury Manager, Fund Manager and Head of Treasury. His last position in Zimbabwe was Operations Director for a commercial bank where he was responsible for the business units of the bank. He was charged with driving business direction and strategy.

Nevine Osama - Board Secretary

Nevine is a graduate of the English & American Language and Literature Department of Cairo University. Before leaving Egypt, She was working with the USAID and the UNDP in two major projects that worked mainly with the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Finance. Her work expertise lay in the area of research and marketing. In Italy, however, she managed a family restaurant for three years and that was a total career shift. Her son, Simone, has been with MBIS since he was three. The school has become a second home for them and the school staff are almost family.

Philopateer Yassa - Board Member

Philopateer is an A.U.C computer science engineer and cofounder of Open scope, a software house specialised in providing customised software solutions for different types of businesses in the local and foreign markets. One of his company main products in SMS-LMS (school management system/ learning management system) used locally by more than 30 schools and more than 40000 students. Philopateer has a daughter and a son in Year 2 and Year 5 at MBIS.

Germaine Haddad - Board Member

Germaine has over than 23 years working experience in professional development and programme management mainly on programmes related to public policy and systems enhancement with government, faith-based organizations, civil society and research institutions. She is an expert on gender equality, gender-based violence protection and response systems, female genital mutilation, development of national strategies and implementation frameworks/structures promoting human rights and gender equality. Germaine has experience on population issues, reproductive health and rights, personal status law, international relations and conventions. She is the Deputy Representative/ Head of programmes- United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA)-Egypt. Leading programmes in the areas of Population & development, Promoting Reproductive Health, Combating all forms of GBV & promoting Youth Empowerment. Germaine held the post of Development Specialist, Municipal Initiative for Strategic Recovery/Public Policy & Decentralization- UNDP, also held the post of Technical Supervisor/ Deputy Director -The Trade-Related Assistance Centre advising Egypt’s business community on trade policies & the implications of joining the World Trade Organization, USAID project, at the American Chamber of Commerce. Held the post of Senior Program Officer -The Ombudsman Office- the National Council for Women. Germaine is the mother of a twin daughters at Year 7 at MBIS.   

Mohamed Wahdan - Board Member

Mohamed was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt. Upon graduating from Cairo American College (CAC), He got his Bachelors degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from North Carolina State University in the USA, with a minor in Economics. He later received a finance diploma from Harvard University. He then moved back to join his family’s business in the automotive industry. After becoming the managing director of the company, Mohamed started to branch out, and started his own project, which he now works on full time. Mohamed has two children at MBIS, and they joined the school in 2018.
