Which year group is my child eligible for?

For the academic year 2024-2025, children are enrolled according to the following class placement table:

What are the school hours?

The MBIS school week runs Sunday to Thursday from 8.00am to 2.30pm. After School Activities (Y1-Y11) run from 2:45 to 3:45pm.

What is the After School Activity provision at MBIS?

At MBIS we offer a variety of After School Activities (ASAs) aiming to encourage and develop individual interests, hobbies and talents, alongside important qualities such as independence, organisation, perseverance, teamwork and leadership. ASAs are offered to all children from Year 1 upwards and vary from term-to-term to provide a broad base of learning experiences.

Is there a bus service?

The school provides bus transportation through a local company. The service is offered to the Maadi, Zamalek, New Cairo, 6th October and Heliopolis areas. More details are available at the School Office or by emailing the Head of Administration Office, Mrs. Nermine Hassanein at [email protected].

What about snack and lunch?

For children in our Foundation Class through to Year 2, packed lunches and snacks are brought to school from home in protective packaging/boxes, or parents could order online for their children through the school caterers, meals will be delivered to children in their classes. Healthy foods and drinks are actively encouraged. Confectionery is not allowed. Children have a snack during the morning, They sit together for 20 minutes, while they eat their lunch. The school has an impressive outdoor cafeteria that serves a wide range of healthy foods and drinks. Children in Year 3 to Year 9 may use the cafeteria at lunch times, or alternatively bring in a packed lunch and snack.

What Modern Languages at taught at MBIS?

MBIS offers the option of Arabic, French or Spanish to students as a second language. Arabic on a native level is also available as an elective after-school activity either once or twice per week.

What Physical Education Activities are offered?

All Primary and Secondary Students participate in PE lessons twice a week. PE teaching aims to promote health, enjoyment, skills and achievement through a number of activities including games, gymnastic and athletic activities, dance and swimming.

Does MBIS accept students throughout the academic year?

As MBIS serves the expatriate community, it accepts students any time throughout the academic year, subject to availability of space.

Does MBIS accept English as an Additional Language (EAL) and Special Educational Needs (SEN) students?

MBIS is proud to be an all-inclusive school. It offers both EAL and SEN support to the children in its care. However, we must ensure that the needs of every child at school could be met and accommodated within the school resources. This is confirmed after the entrance assessment and submission of all the necessary specialist reports.

How do we apply?

Complete and submit the following:

  1. Registration form
  2. MEBCS membership form
  3. MBIS ID application form
  4. MBIS Community Code of Conduct signed by both parents
  5. Copy of the child’s passport and birth certificate
  6. Copies of the parents’ passports
  7. Passport sized photo for the child, and one for each parent (for the MBIS ID)
  8. Copy of the child’s vaccination record (DPT, MMR, Polio)
  9. Copies of the child’s previous school reports, if applicable (last 2 years)

Upon receipt of the above, the school schedules the child’s entrance assessment/observation session, application fee is payable in cash on the day of the entrance assessment.

The place is confirmed after two days of sitting the entrance assessment.

An invoice for Registration fee is raised, when this is settled, the place is solidly booked and guaranteed.

Tuition fees invoice is issued.
